Welcome To My Site! I'm Joan Lewis. I began stitching in 1968 and fell in love with needlework. I'm still on a honeymoon, and needlepoint is my passion.

My immersion into needlework has allowed me to meet many wonderful people who share my love. As a member of EGA and ANG, I have had the opportunity to meet people of many talents and skills from whom I learned so much. All of them have my admiration for the dedication and love they have for needlework, and my thanks for inspiring me to be a better designer and teacher.

My love affair over the past 36 years has been rewarding. I designed a Christmas stocking for the White House Christmas Tree, needlepoint canvases for the Kansas Governors office and mansion, taught many classes locally for over 25 years and one for ANG in 1991. But, the most gratifying reward has been the acceptance of my designs by so many needlepoint stitchers.

My designs do not focus on realism, but tend to be more representational. They use intermediate and advanced stitches and a variety of threads to achieve details and a desired effect. My style conveys emotional feelings and whimsical fantasy inspired by my love for fairy tales. Some pieces are challenging; others will be easier, but all of them will be fun to do.
